Case Summary: Mr. Lin from Chengdu entrusted "熙浦国际搬家" with shipping one small container of luggage and furniture to Tokyo, Japan.

Japan and China are separated by a narrow strip of water and share some cultural similarities. In addition, Japan's high-standard education quality, well-developed welfare system, and clean and tidy urban environment have attracted the attention of many Chinese immigrants. Tokyo, located in the central part of the Kanto Plain facing Tokyo Bay, is an international metropolis. After the Meiji Restoration, it became a hub for Japan's politics, economy, culture, transportation, and many other fields. Especially after continued development following World War II, Tokyo has not only become a global center of commerce and finance, popular culture, and fashion, but is also one of the world's most economically developed and affluent cities. Therefore, many Chinese people who immigrate to Japan choose to settle in Tokyo, and Mr. Lin from Chengdu is one of them.
After deciding to settle in Tokyo, Mr. Lin began making moving arrangements. His belongings were not many but were diverse, including clothing, shoes and hats, a computer, audio equipment, a washing machine, a refrigerator, a mattress, mahogany furniture, and more. After an on-site measurement by the supervising surveyor, the volume was estimated at about 18 cubic meters, so the sales representative working with Mr. Lin recommended full-container ocean shipping, which would take about one month. For miscellaneous items such as clothing, shoes, and hats, "熙浦" provided Mr. Lin with some cartons and auxiliary materials for packing and organizing. For bulky items such as furniture and appliances, "熙浦" staff handled the packaging when picking up the goods on site. Mr. Lin only needed to provide documents required for customs declaration and clearance, such as his passport and visa.
A few days ago, "熙浦" staff went to Mr. Lin's home in Chengdu to pick up and pack the goods. Their professional, patient, and conscientious work attitude greatly satisfied Mr. Lin, who supervised on site. Below are photos of the on-site packing.

Notes for moving from Chengdu to Japan:
1. Counterfeit goods such as brand-name imitations: if counterfeit goods are brought into the country without the carrier's knowledge and are discovered by Japanese customs, the items will be confiscated and fined. In such cases, no further legal liability will be pursued against the income, but if they are brought in knowingly, it will undoubtedly constitute a criminal offense.
2. According to relevant Japanese customs regulations, holders of visas valid for more than one year who have not traveled to Japan for more than six months recently may import personal items such as furniture, tableware, books, and artworks duty-free. At the time of customs clearance, the shipper must be present for clearance.
3. Documents required for Japanese customs clearance: the original customs declaration form C5360 stamped by customs, a copy of the passport (including the certificate, photo, and signature), a packing list / detailed item list in English or Japanese, the ocean bill of lading (OBL) / air waybill (AWB), and other items required by customs.
