Shipping Methods

For sea freight from Japan back to China, in addition to conventional LCL and container shipping, Seapoe also offers its exclusive advantage: the groupage (consolidated shipping) model.

Full Container Load (FCL)
If you have a large amount of furniture or bulky luggage to ship to Japan or back to China from Japan, and the volume reaches approximately 15-20 cubic meters or more, you may consider chartering a 20-foot container for sea freight (due to the irregular shapes of furniture and luggage, a 20-foot container can generally hold at most 25-26 cubic meters of furniture-type items).

FCL shipping does not necessarily mean the entire container must be fully loaded; rather, it means the container belongs to you alone, achieving the highest level of security and privacy protection. Common containers include 20-foot, 40-foot, and 40-foot high-cube containers.

Less than Container Load (LCL)
If your items are under 15 cubic meters, you can consider LCL shipping: when booking sea freight, you directly use the LCL form so the shipping company allocates your cargo into a certain container, and the goods in that container are jointly owned by different shippers.

Groupage (Consolidated Shipping)
Groupage can be considered a type of LCL shipping, but the key difference is that all cargo in a groupage container is owned by Seapoe's customers. Thanks to Seapoe's large volume of Japan sea freight customers, multiple containers depart from port and shuttle between China and Japan every week.

The advantages of Seapoe's groupage are, on one hand, reduced costs that save customers on shipping fees, and on the other hand, all cargo in the entire container is coordinated by Seapoe, maximizing the security of customers' belongings.

Because items are shipped back to China by LCL together with other Seapoe customers from Japan, arrangements need to be made based on mutual communication, waiting for customer service staff to schedule and consolidate the shipment.

Service Process

  1. Customers contact us through various channels for preliminary communication. Seapoe's professional transportation consultants will provide customs policy consultation, shipping plans, and quotations based on cargo details, moving methods and routes, shipping schedules, and other information.
  2. Based on Seapoe's plan and quotation, a second round of communication takes place. After confirming the order, the International Moving Transport Contract is signed, shipping schedules and other information are confirmed, and Seapoe arranges a packing team to visit and pack and reinforce the goods within the agreed timeframe.
  3. Seapoe consultants, based on the relevant documents provided by the customer, assist in preparing packing lists and other customs declaration documents to ensure the goods are smoothly released by customs.
  4. After arrival at the destination port in China, different basic/value-added services are provided according to the contract, including destination port customs clearance, door-to-door delivery, removal of packing materials, placement of items in designated positions, and debris removal.

Shipping Time and Pricing

For sea freight from Japan back to China, the entire process from on-site pickup to door-to-door delivery generally takes 45-75 days. Since delays may occur at any stage with Japanese customs authorized agencies, which are uncontrollable factors, the actual total service time in individual cases may exceed the average.

Regarding pricing, since Seapoe provides not just sea freight but comprehensive door-to-door international moving services, the service contents and cost structure are relatively complex. If you would like to know the price of sea freight from Japan to China, please contact us for a quotation.
