Moving from Guangzhou to Tokyo

In recent years, emigrating and settling abroad has become a topic of common interest. Besides emigrating to some European and American countries, some Asian countries have gradually become immigration destinations. Japan, separated from China by a narrow strip of water, has attracted more and more immigrants thanks to its beautiful environment, favorable welfare policies, and advanced education. Many people who immigrate to Japan choose to settle in Tokyo. Tokyo is the nominal capital and largest city of Japan, the country's political, economic, cultural, and transportation center, and one of the most economically developed and wealthiest cities in the world. It brings together Japan's best financial environment and best education, and naturally has the largest population as well.

Mr. Sun from Guangzhou needed to ship some furniture, books, clothing, kitchenware, and other household luggage to Tokyo, Japan. According to the estimate of the surveyor who conducted the on-site assessment, the total volume was about 8 cubic meters, suitable for LCL shipping to Tokyo. Moving from China to Tokyo involves quite a few steps, basically including packing and container loading, customs declaration and ocean shipping, customs clearance and delivery, and so on. To save trouble, Mr. Sun chose Seapoe Relo's door-to-door dual customs clearance service. From the moment the contract was signed, apart from providing some documents required for customs clearance, everything else was left to Seapoe to complete—saving worry, effort, and time. Given the long ocean transit time of international moves and the handling involved in between, items require professional packaging to ensure transport safety. Seapoe tailored a professional packaging plan for Mr. Sun's items, using high-quality packaging materials and packing the items according to the packaging standards of the international moving association, which effectively reduced the damage rate of items during long-distance transportation.

Notes on moving from Guangzhou to Tokyo, Japan:

1. Documents required for moving to Japan include: the original customs declaration form C5360 stamped by customs, photocopies of family members' passports (including certificate, photo, and signature), a packing list / detailed item list in English or Japanese, the ocean bill of lading (OBL) / air waybill (AWB), and the keys/passwords for any locked luggage. (Household goods and personal effects must be cleared within 6 months of the entry date listed on customs declaration form C5360.)

2. Those who have lived in Japan for more than 1 year may import used household goods and personal effects duty-free (within the specified time frame).

3. When sorting items before moving, please pay attention to Japanese customs regulations on entry items, such as not carrying counterfeit branded goods or food, and do not cause customs clearance delays by carrying prohibited items.

4. Since international moving from China to Japan involves a long journey and a long time cycle, to avoid chaos when settling furniture and items into the new home, it is recommended to clearly mark the contents on every package, large or small, when packing, and preferably keep a record in a dedicated notebook for reference. In this way, after arriving at the new home, you only need to unpack and assemble according to the original records.
